UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicle) are getting to the forefront of the aerospace sector and are growing increasingly in attractiveness for customers mainly for the wide range of potential applications. Our member companies are aware of this trend and are actively working on the development of UAVs for the global market.
One of the leading companies producing UAVs in the Czech Republic is Airmobis. Most of their production consists of VTOL drones (vertical take-off and landing).
The R5D model is an example of such design. It is a 4kg VTOL cargo drone with a Galileo navigation system thanks to which it can deliver packages swiftly to remote areas. It is a highly efficient and safe machine and meets the latest safety requirements of European Regulations for autonomous flight. It can also be used for ecological management.
The company MGM Compro mainly focuses on electric propulsion systems for the aviation industry. This includes batteries, management systems, charging stations, motors etc. They have great experience and know-how and thanks to putting a lot of effort into research and development they have one of the prime positions on the global market.
These propulsion systems are widely used by various UAVs. Due to the wide range of these systems offered a good solution for a great number of traditional aircrafts and UAVs can be found.
A Czech aircraft manufacturer Orličan has decided to widen the range of products with a UAV. The model Cargo Drone is based on a traditional aircraft M-8 Eagle but is equipped with all the systems necessary for an autonomous flight.
It is going to be a very capable drone with a maximum payload of 200 kg. Moreover, the Cargo Drone can land or take-off on an airstrip just 150 meters long. The maximum take-off weight is 600 kg.
