Cluster members' projects

Our member take part in various projects (internal, national, international). They are mostly focused on research and development and innovation. Czech aerospace companies remain at the global level and don’t fall behind the competition.

Subsystems for convolute satellite solar panels

Cluster members 5M and BD sensors became partners in one of the prime European space projects. They are working on the first convolute solar panel system in Europe in cooperation with other companies. These panels are developed for the modular satellite ASTRA Q1.

5M are working on the complete mechanical system for the solar panels including the manufacturing.  BD Sensors supply the project with wiring harnesses. This project is revolutionary and will certainly greatly move the progress regarding satellite technologies forward.

Projects of One3D s.r.o.

The OPPIK project of the company One3D is aimed towards building a centre for research and development and innovation with the financial support of the European Union. It should result in progress in the area of additive technologies and materials. There is another similar project aimed at increasing the capacity and competences of said centre.

This company has another OPPIK project focused on digitalisation of manufacturing and research activities which should aid the automation and further increase the manufacturing capacity. All this is supposed to increase the capabilities of additive manufacturing and therefore help create a more sustainable and eco-friendly industry 4.0.

ΦNIX aircraft

It is an aeroplane completely designed and built in the Czech Republic. Aside from this, the interesting thing is that the two-seater plane is powered by electric motors. This rapidly decreases the noise and emissions while the flight characteristics remain amazing. The maximum take-off weight is 600 kg.

This electric propulsion system is supplied by our member company MGM Compro which is one of the world’s leading companies in this area. This is obvious by the fact that their systems can be found in many other products.

Sequencer for the Ariane 6 rocket

G.L. Electronics is one of our member companies that take part in the development of European satellite technology. This particular company was responsible for the development, design, testing and mounting of the circuit boards for the sequencer for the Ariane 6 rocket. The sequencer weights roughly 5 kg and its dimensions are about 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.3 meters. It is meant to deliver many satellites to the Earth’s orbit.

It is possible to change the number of satellites in the sequencer before each launch of the rocket which means that there is no need for a universal sequencer that would be unnecessarily expensive. This greatly contributes to the success of the European space programme and the development of satellite technologies.
